For most purposes the Parish and Parish Council were known as Barnburgh and Harlington. However, officially the Parish and Parish Council were called Barnburgh with Harlington. The official name was used for elections, Declarations of Acceptance and for the Annual Governance and Accountability Return. The Parish Council decided to remove the inconsistency and applied for the name of the Parish and Parish Council to be changed to the name that they are best known by. This has now been confirmed and from 28 February 2023 the names of the Parish and Parish Council is now officially Barnburgh and Harlington.
