The Parish Council provides allotments on Barnburgh Lane. There are 24 plots but currently 1 plot is not suitable for letting.

 The Parish Council publishes a pseudonymised copy of the allotment waiting list. This is updated regularly.

Barnburgh Cemetery

The Parish Council is responsible for Barnburgh Cemetery.
The Parish Council’s Cemetery and Memorials Policy is below along with the current list of fees.

The Parish Council reviews the cemetery and memorial fees every October and any changes take effect from the following  January unless stated otherwise.

In 2025 the review of the cemetery fees took place on 15 October when the Parish Council decided to increase a number of cemetery and memorial fees.  The new fees will apply from 1 January 2026.

A Neighbourhood Plan for Barnburgh and Harlington

A Designated Neighbourhood Planning Area

At it’s meeting in June the Parish Council Resolved to develop a Neighbourhood plan for Barnburgh and Harlington Parish.
Since then the Council has applied to City of Doncaster Council, the Planning Authority for the whole of the Parish to be designated as a Neighbourhood Planning Area. This has now been confirmed.

Have Your Say and Drop In Sessions

At the July 2023 meeting of the Parish Council, the Council agreed the terms of reference for a Neighbourhood Plan Working Group. This Group will be community led.
Details of the Neighbourhood Plan, what it is and what it involves were covered in the August 2023 edition of the Parish Magazine and also in later editions.
A newsletter is being sent to every home in the Parish and Drop in Sessions have been arranged for February and early March. The dates of the drop in sessions are

The drop in sessions for residents to comment and make suggestions about the Neighbourhood Plan have now finished. Thank you to everyone who took the time to drop in at the sessions or send an email, phone or send an e-mail with their suggestions.

A Second Newsletter: Issues and Options
